You are learning from a textbook called Irodori by the Japan Foundation, but you might want to watch a video of Japanese being used in real situations. Or maybe you are studying in the Irodori online course, but you are currently unable to watch videos of each lesson in succession, which you may find inconvenient. So, in this post, I share collections of links to Irodori videos. You can access not only the videos in the Irodori online course, but also the videos created by the Japan Foundation Phnom Penh.
Videos in the Irodori Online Course
First, here are the links to the videos in the Irodori online course. In these videos, you can enjoy a drama-like storyline at each level; in Elementary1 and Elementary2, the main character is the same. Of course, not only is it fun, but it also covers the Japanese you will be learning at Irodori.
Checklists
Please check the following points before using the links.
- You must be logged in to the Irodori Japanese Online Course.
- All levels of the course are “currently enrolled”.
If you do not meet these two conditions, you will not get to the video even if you click on the link, and the home page will come up.
Video Links
Here are the video links. You can scroll up, down, left, and right. Each lesson has a video without subtitles and a video with subtitles. The reason for this is that in the Irodori online course lessons, you will first watch the video without subtitles and then watch the video with subtitles at the end of the lesson. Even in the video with subtitles, you can turn off the subtitles.
Starter Level
The links to the Starter level videos are as follows.
Elementary 1 Level
The links to the Elementary 1 level videos are as follows.
Elementary 2 Level
The links to the Elementary 2 level videos are as follows.
Videos by the Japan Foundation Phnom Penh
Videos made by the Japan Foundation Phnom Penh are also available. These are videos of the conversations and monologues of each lesson. Therefore, they are different from the Irodori online course videos and are worthwhile. The videos are available on our YouTube channel. You may be confused by the Khmer language you see, but don’t worry, there is also English.
You can also use the YouTube feature to turn subtitles on and off. The subtitles are not automatically generated, but seem to be added by the creator. Excellent work.
